SP Motorsports is a Porsche racing team based in the San Fransisco Bay Area specializing in track prep, aftermarket modification, and maintenance. We are seeking to expand our engineering department to design, test, and manufacture high performance automotive components for a wide range of Porsche models. The duration of the internship can be adjusted to meet individual academic requirements, preferably starting June 2025 and ending September 2025.
What You’ll Do:
Your main responsibility is to assist the engineering team by taking on current projects with guidance as needed. Examples for possible projects include:
- Designing aerodynamic, structural, and aesthetic parts for a variety of Porsche models
- Analyzing existing and new products with an emphasis on design for manufacturing (CNC, composites, and laser/waterjet cutting)
- Reverse engineering existing off-the-shelf products using 3D scanning and traditional metrology
- Assisting in project management and coordination of manufacturing
